Our District Councillors, Matthew Taylor and Kevin Bayes, have painted the goalposts on the recreation ground, as part of their Community Action Work, a voluntary scheme they do to help, wherever they can, around their district.

Here are a few photos to show their work, for which Catfield Parish Council is most grateful.

Re Deer Shooting in Catfield

Residents are encouraged to report issues as they happen. The Police have advised they are much more likely to be able to locate and identify those responsible if they receive the information into their control room as the incident is happening. If anyone feels that someone is in imminent danger then they should call 999. If you wish to report an incident after the event, or where there is no immediate danger or crime in progress, you can either call 101 or use the online reporting function on the Norfolk Constabulary website. Reporting issues will allow the Police to build a picture of the situation, and likely make their enquiries more effective.

Thank you.

Broads Authority pre-application advice
We would like to remind you that the Broads Authority’s Planning Committee, as a Local Planning Authority, provide pre-application advice on planning queries, including around whether planning permission is needed and on proposals. This advice is free of charge.
There are many benefits to contacting the planning team prior to starting any work. There are instances where development takes place without the correct planning permission and this can lead, in some circumstances, to enforcement proceedings. It is often the case that if preapplication advice had been sought, then the works might not have gone ahead thereby saving the householder time, money and inconvenience, whilst where planning permission is not needed, it is always useful to have this confirmed in writing.

They can also advise on the correct form to use and what further documents
or information will be required, and, again, this can save time and expense for all parties.
One of the main functions of pre-application is to give preliminary informal advice on whether a scheme is likely to be acceptable if an application for planning permission is submitted and to advise on any changes or amendments that would be needed.
You can contact them via planning@broads-authority.gov.uk and it is useful to put ‘Pre-application advice request’ in the subject box. They aim to respond within 3 weeks, but this will depend on how busy they are because dealing with the planning applications where a fee has been paid is the priority.
